Telegram lead generation without spam: a practical guide
Telegram lead generation without spam: TELEGRAMUS finds public chats, spots buyer requests, and hands them to your reps. No bought accounts or cold DMs.
It’s 9:15 on a Friday night. In a 40,000-member industry group, someone posts: “Need a truck from Tashkent to Almaty for Monday, 20 tons. Who can take it?” Ten minutes later there are fifteen replies from carriers. Your sales rep will see the post on Monday morning, if at all. He’s subscribed to sixty groups like this one and stopped reading them weeks ago.
In much of Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, Telegram is where buyers say out loud what they need. Telegram lead generation, done right, means catching those requests in time. The problem is noise. The lazy fix, buying a stack of accounts and blasting cold DMs, ends in bans, complaints, and a damaged reputation. This guide explains how we find customers on Telegram the honest way: in the open, based on what people actually ask for, and without spam.
Why spamming on Telegram backfires
Let’s start with what we don’t do, and why.
Cold DMs from purchased accounts. They break Telegram’s rules, and accounts get banned after a handful of reports. In a small market where everyone knows everyone, one wave of complaints about “a bot pretending to be a person” costs more than any savings.
Hijacked or “aged” accounts with someone else’s history. Off the table, always. That’s not a gray area. It’s access to someone else’s data.
Fake personas and lurker accounts. Also no. If your company shows up in a group, it shows up openly, under its own name.
So how do you get leads? You listen instead of shouting. People post requests in public: they’re looking for a carrier, a supplier, a contractor, a hire. The job of the system is to spot those requests before your competitors do and put them in front of a person while they’re still fresh.
How TELEGRAMUS works, from topic to lead
TELEGRAMUS works like a research desk. You describe who you’re looking for. It figures out where those people talk and brings back the messages worth your time.
Step 1: describe the topic in plain words
Write the topic the way you’d explain it to a colleague: “freight carriers in Central Asia,” “commercial construction in the capital,” “wholesale packaging buyers.” The system expands it once into search phrases in several languages, plus a list of signal words that tend to appear in a relevant message.
In one of our test runs, a freight topic turned into about 20 search phrases and around 30 signal words.
Step 2: find chats five ways
- Telegram’s own search by name.
- “Similar channels” that Telegram suggests.
- Snowballing: forwards, mentions, and links inside posts it has already read.
- Discussion groups attached to channels, which is often where people write “looking for a carrier.”
- Manual adds: if you already know a good group, drop it in.
Step 3: score a channel before joining it
This is the core safety rule. Public channels are read through their open web preview, with no account and no join. There’s simply no ban risk at this stage.
Based on the last 30 to 50 posts, each channel gets a score:
| What’s scored | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Topic fit, 0 to 100 | Skip random chats |
| Language and country | Stay in your market |
| Activity | Drop dead groups |
| Who’s there: buyers or sellers | A group full of sellers won’t give you leads |
Only channels that pass move forward. In that same run, out of hundreds of chats found, the scoring kept a few large freight groups. That’s where the real requests were.
Step 4: monitor without gaps or repeats
Selected channels and groups are monitored continuously. Each message is read once, so nothing slips through and nothing is processed twice. The system joins a group only when there’s no other way to read it, and joins are slow and capped per day.
Step 5: find signals in two passes
Running every message through AI is expensive and unnecessary, so filtering happens in two passes:
- A cheap keyword filter. Messages with none of the signal words are dropped immediately, at no cost.
- A short AI check. What’s left gets labeled: a customer request, someone looking for a job, or noise.
Every lead is saved with who posted, what they need, a contact, a link to the message, and a score. Duplicate posts of the same request are merged.
Step 6: one daily digest
Once a day, each topic sends a digest: new channels found, the hottest messages, and fresh leads. Nobody has to sit in sixty groups. One summary over morning coffee is enough.
A lead is a hint for a person, not a trigger for a blast
The most important rule in TELEGRAMUS: the system never cold-messages anyone on its own. A lead is a suggestion. A rep decides what to do with it.
The rep has two buttons:
- Message. The text comes from the topic’s template (“how we introduce ourselves and what we offer”) or from an editable draft. It’s sent through the shared CONNECTUS inbox, which applies its own per-account limits, queues messages, and checks whether that channel allows a first message. The whole team sees the conversation.
- Send to CRM. The lead lands in the CRMUS CRM in the pipeline and stage you choose. When the person replies, the conversation stays attached to the lead.
It learns from your team’s choices
Every choice a rep makes is logged: opened, messaged, sent to CRM, hidden. From that, the system learns what your team cares about:
- examples of “taken” and “skipped” are fed into the check for new messages;
- chats that produce leads more often are read more often and ranked higher;
- new signal words are suggested automatically.
This learning costs almost nothing. There are no extra expensive AI calls, just careful bookkeeping of what people chose.
Accounts, shared team inboxes, and privacy
An account pool that plays by the rules
Reading groups and replying requires Telegram accounts. TELEGRAMUS works with a pool of the company’s own accounts:
- new accounts are warmed up and start in a gentle mode;
- each account has daily limits;
- “one person, one touch”: two company accounts can never message the same person;
- if an account gets frozen, you can swap it out and the conversation continues in the same thread without a break.
One shared account for the whole sales team
Many sales teams run on a single shared Telegram account with hundreds of groups. In CONNECTUS that account becomes a tidy inbox. Groups are sorted into folders automatically, and one group equals one company and one deal in the CRM. Replies sent from a phone show up in the shared view too.
Personal stays personal
A work account inevitably collects chats with friends and family. A conversation marked “Personal” is hidden from everyone, including admins, and never reaches the CRM. Friends don’t turn into leads, and employees aren’t afraid to use the work account.
Checklist: Telegram lead generation without spam
- The topic is written in your customer’s words, not yours.
- Channels are scored before joining; only good fits move forward.
- No automated cold DMs: a person reviews every lead.
- Only your own accounts, warmed up and rate-limited. Never bought or borrowed ones.
- Your company appears in groups openly, under its own name.
- The first message follows a template: short and about the request.
- A “no” is final. You don’t write again.
- Personal chats are marked and hidden.
- Only live leads go to the CRM.
Your first week
- Day 1. Set up one or two topics: who your customer is and how they phrase a request.
- Day 2. Review the channels found and their scores. Add any groups you already know.
- Days 3 to 5. Read the morning digest. Reply to fresh requests with “Message,” send live ones to the CRM, hide the rest.
- End of week. Check which chats produced leads and drop topics that came up empty.
Telegram isn’t the only public source. If your buyers are companies with websites, see how we build a B2B lead database from 78 million domains and write each company a tailored pitch. And once a lead replies, the AI sales agent takes over; we explain how it learns from your own conversations in a separate post.
The bottom line
Telegram lead generation isn’t about reaching as many people as possible. It’s about being the first to notice someone who already said what they need, and answering them with something useful. TELEGRAMUS finds those messages in public chats, filters out the noise, puts leads in front of your reps, and protects your accounts and your reputation along the way.
You can switch it on during your first days with PRANUS; the 14-day implementation page shows how it fits into the overall rollout. Want to see what buyers in your niche are posting right now? Book a demo and we’ll set up your topic and show you.
